 Jeff Purvis Busch Series Career Highlights

1973 – Began his racing career at age 15 at the Clarksville Speedway, a ¼ dirt track in his home town of  Clarksville, Tennessee home
1983 – World 100 champion
1984 – World Series of Dirt Champion. National Dirt Racing Association Champion., World 100 Champion, second consecutive season.
1985 – National Dirt Racing Association Champion for second consecutive season.
1986 - World 100 Champion, First three time winner.
1989 – Started his first Busch Series race at Charlotte on October 7th – finished 40th.
1990 – Made four Busch starts. Won his first super speedway race (ARCA) at Talladega.
1991- ran four Busch races
1992- ran four Busch races
1993- ran two Busch races
1994- ran four Busch races  Won his first Busch Series Pole Award at Talladega on July 17, 1994.
1995- ran nine Busch Series races, winning one pole award and posting one top-five and three top-ten finishes.
1996- had his first Busch Series Win at Richmond on his 31st Busch start. He also won at Michigan that year. Finished in the top-five four times and had seven top-ten finishes in 24 starts. He also won two poles.
1997- ran 9 Busch Series events with one top-five and three top-ten finishes.
1998- ran 23 Busch races posting six top-five and ten top-ten finishes. Won Pole Award at Milwaukee. Finished 15th in overall BGN point standings.
1999-  ran 32 races, finished a career best sixth in Busch Series points while posting  four  top-five and twelve top-ten finishes.
2000- ran 26 races during his fourth full season in BGN Series. Won Pole Award at Pikes Peak and posted four top-five and eleven top-ten finishes. Finished eleventh in Busch Series points.
2001- ran 23 races with three different teams. Won at Pikes Peak and posted three top-five and eight top-ten finishes. Led five different races for a total of 196 laps,  including leading the most laps at Daytona and Pikes Peak. Completed 98.5% of possible laps in 23 races. He was one of the original inductees into the Dirt Racing Association Hall of Fame in Kentucky.
2002- ran 12 races. Won The Texas O’Reilly 300 after starting 13th. Was injured in an accident in Nazareth, Pa and didn’t race the remainder of the year.
2004- with the eyes of the racing nation on him he made a comeback run at Nazareth, the track where he had the near fatal accident. He qualified 26 and finished 17th in a very good run.
